The concept of a resident's parking scheme for Lewes is one I have always supported. The scheme which was finally introduced however, was not one I advocated. Indeed I made a number of detailed suggestions for amendments to the scheme before it was introduced, but these were not taken on board by the County Council.
Since then I have maintained a registered and constructive dialogue with County Council officers and made a large number of suggestions to changes to the scheme based on comments I have received from my constituents. You will find some of these in the letters I have posted on my website. I continue to argue for changes and I'm hopeful that many of my suggestions will be included in the revised scheme which I believe the County Council will be introducing in June.
