Local MP points the way where road signs do not

Newhaven's MP, Norman Baker, has called on East Sussex County Council to make improvements to the Denton area that will help local businesses.

Norman has asked the Council to implement a three-point improvement scheme that would increase local knowledge of the Avis Road parade of shops, which includes the recently re-opened Mount Pleasant Post office and three food based shops. This scheme would include:

Speaking about the area, Norman Baker said:

"It is vital that the Council recognises the importance of this parade of shops to local residents and takes appropriate action to help support these units. I have made three practical and cost-efficient suggestions to the Council which I feel would make a significant difference.

Not everyone is aware that these shops are here and, in particular, I suspect that many are unaware that the Post Office has now re-opened. It is important that as many as possible are aware of the local facilities available. I hope that the Council will be able to help."
