Action on A26 Danger Spot


The Highways Agency is to take action to improve safety at a notorious accident blackspot.

The Agency promised, in a phone call from local MP Norman Baker, that they would introduce measures within the next year at the junction of the caravan park with the A26 at South Heighton. Among the measures under active consideration are:

Norman Baker says: 

"My constituents have been rightly concerned about safety along this stretch, particularly given the accidents which have occurred here. I am delighted that the Agency have now recognised that action needs to be taken. I welcome the proposals they have put to me, and have asked for them to be implemented as soon as possible."
