Local MP Makes Newhaven Award Winners His Business

Newhaven's MP, Norman Baker, will be spending the day in Newhaven on Friday 9th January in order to visit local businesses and celebrate the success of recent business award winners.

In this, the first of a number of visits that Norman will be making to local businesses in towns across the constituency in the coming weeks, the local MP hopes to discuss issues facing the business community and congratulate those businesses that won recognition at the inaugural presentation of Newhaven Business Awards in December last year.

Norman Baker will be joined by Graham Amy, President of the Newhaven Chamber of Commerce, on visits to two business award winners, Premier Impressions and the Sussex Sign Company. This will followed by a town centre walkabout.

Norman Baker said:

"I am greatly looking forward to my visit to Newhaven on Friday. Although I am often in Newhaven and am very familiar with the town, this visit will afford a real opportunity to learn more about individual, local businesses and the issues facing them.

"I am also delighted that the Chamber of Commerce have introduced business awards to formally recognise the achievements of the town's smaller businesses that have, in the past, not always received the recognition that they deserve. I hope that my visit on Friday will be an excellent opportunity to congratulate the award winners and celebrate the town's many business successes."
