Seaford's MP, Norman Baker, has today called for improvements to the disgraceful state of the surface of the parking area at the Lambes Bridge Recycling Centre.
Following intermittent yet persistent complaints from local residents about the area, the town's MP has written to the Head of Environment and Health at Lewes District Council to call for improvements to be made.
Commenting on this Norman says:
"The bad condition of the car park at Lambes Bridge Recycling Centre is an issue which I am regularly contacted about by local residents who use the recycling facilities there. I have therefore written to the Council to ask what they can do to improve the condition of the car park and to investigate the possibility of resurfacing. I know the council are aware of the problem and are keen to help.
"As the Lib Dem Environment Spokesman I am only too aware how important it is that people are positively encouraged to recycle waste by making recycling as convenient as possible. Recycling facilities located in a car park that habitually floods after heavy rainfall due to poor surfacing is certainly not making the task of being an environmentally responsible citizen an easy one."
