Local MP Welcomes Changes To Sainsbury's Bus Stop

Newhaven MP, Norman Baker, has today welcomed Sainsbury's decision to reposition the bus shelter outside their Newhaven store in order to make it more practical and pleasant for shoppers to use.

The bus stop, which is maintained by the supermarket, will also shortly benefit from the addition of ends so that those waiting for the bus are no longer at the mercy of the British weather.

Commenting on this Norman says:

"I have been contacted by a number of constituents on this issue, who were very concerned about the inconvenient position of the bus stop and the fact that it offered no shelter from the elements.

"Many of the people who use the stop are elderly and depend upon the local bus service to do their grocery shopping. I am therefore very pleased that Sainsbury's have decided to make the stop more user friendly by improving it's location and design. It is only right that public transport users are left dry rather than high and dry"
