Lewes MP Norman Baker has today welcomed the winners of his annual children's Christmas card competition to the Houses of Parliament for a guided tour of the building and the country's two legislative chambers. The tour, organised by Norman's office, provided the group with an extensive insight into the history of the building and included a look inside the chambers of both the House of Lords and the House of Commons. Afterwards, the tour party got a chance to meet Norman and have a drink in the visitors' restaurant.
Speaking after their trip Norman commented:
"I was delighted to welcome these children to Westminster. They designed some wonderful Christmas cards on the theme of protecting the environment - the winner of which became my official card to constituents and parliamentary colleagues alike. I was glad then to welcome these talented artists up to Westminster and see them enjoy their prize as they learned a bit about what happens up here at their national Parliament."
