Responding to Tony Blair's appearance at the launch of The Climate Group today, Norman Baker MP, Liberal Democrat Shadow Environment Secretary, said:
"This was supposed to be the Prime Minister's ritual once-a-year environment speech. But this time he had so little to say that he spoke for less than 10 minutes.
"Blair's contribution was a string of warm words and hot air; exhortation without follow-through.
"The formation of the Climate Group is a welcome development, but the time for talking is over. The Prime Minister must use this opportunity to make some significant changes to domestic policy, not just to buy himself more green time."
