Local MP Welcomes Broadband To Whole Of Constituency

Lewes MP, Norman Baker, has today revealed that, by the end of May 2005, the whole of the Lewes Constituency will have access to broadband.

The MP, who has taken a close interest in the issue, has now received confirmation from BT about the national roll-out of broadband and the dates when the two remaining uncovered areas in the constituency will 'go-live' and have broadband enabled.

The two areas not yet covered by broadband are Glynde and Ripe, which are now due to go-live on 6th April 2005 and 25th May 2005 respectively.

Commenting on this Norman says:

"I am very pleased that by the late spring of next year, all of my constituents will have the option of accessing broadband.

"Access to broadband has been a major issue for many of my constituents, particularly those living in more rural areas, who have had to wait the longest for broadband to reach them, and those who run businesses, for whom improved communications technology can make a real difference to their success."
