Lewes MP and Liberal Democrat Shadow Environment Secretary, Norman Baker has today called for urgent action to tackle the growing disrepair of Corsica Hall. The Seaford Hall, once a prime venue for festivals, community meetings and at one point, a residential education centre, has been visibly decaying ever since it was sold by the Council last year
Local residents have been complaining of vandalism and are dismayed at how a once striking and central building to the community, has now become an eyesore and a source of grievance to the surrounding residents.
Commenting on this Norman says:
"It is unacceptable that such a building be allowed to slowly rot away and become a breeding ground for discontent and vandalism. It is a visible testament to the abandonment of Seaford by the County Council
"I am now asking Lewes District Council to ensure that the current owners of Corsica Hall improve the general upkeep and maintenance of this important, landmark property."
