Following discussions this morning between Lewes MP Norman Baker and senior management from Greene King, the company has agreed to set back by seven days the planned withdrawal of Harveys bitter from the Lewes Arms.
Norman Baker says: "I had a constructive meeting with Greene King this morning, the result of which is that Harveys bitter will now stay on sale at the Lewes Arms for at least a further week after Sunday evening, the date originally set by Greene King for its withdrawal.
"The extra week will allow space for further discussions. This is a useful step forward, though I caution people not to raise their hopes too high yet."
