Polegate MP Norman Baker has secured a promise from the Highways Agency that they will investigate the causes of the accidents at the junction of Brown Jack Avenue with the A27 in Polegate. The Agency will then proceed to carry out any necessary remedial work on the road in the next financial year.
The junction in question has been the scene of a number of accidents in recent years, which has caused concern amongst Polegate residents.
This promise follows on from Norman's highly successful meeting with the Highways Agency last month, in which Norman brought numerous A27 related issues to the attention of the agency, including specific Polegate problems.
Norman said, "I am very glad to her that the Highways Agency is finally taking the needs of Polegate seriously, and look forward to their assessment of the junction at Brown Jack Avenue. I welcome the fact that they have committed to undertaking any necessary works in the near future.
I will continue to press the Highways Agency and East Sussex County Council to improve road safety throughout Lewes constituency."
