Local MP “honoured” by RSPCA appointment

Local MP Norman Baker has today declared himself honoured after a decision by the RSPCA to extend his term as Vice President of the organisation for a further three years.

Norman has been a tireless campaigner for animal welfare during his time in parliament, campaigning against animal cruelty in all its forms.

Speaking about the news, Norman said: "I am honoured that the trustees of the Society have decided to extend my term of office for three more years and I look forward to continuing to work closely with the organisation for the benefit of all animals."

In 2003 Norman was awarded the coveted Lord Erskine Award "in recognition of his very important contribution in the field of animal welfare".
