Huge response to MP’s health survey

Norman Baker struggling with a single day's returns of his health survey

Thousands of local people have responded to local MP Norman Baker’s NHS inquiry, with more completed forms arriving every day. In the largest ever survey of its kind in the local area, residents have expressed their views on the state of the NHS in our area. The full results of the NHS Inquiry will be published in the New Year once all surveys have been analysed.

Norman says: "I would like to thank local residents for their huge response to this survey. It shows how important health is to everyone, and this survey will give me a clear picture of what local people want from our NHS."

Key findings of the survey so far are:

<>Norman adds "It is clear that local people are grateful for the hard work of NHS staff. The huge majority back the campaign to secure a pay rise for nurses."

But many people expressed outrage at the government’s plans to cut services at the Princess Royal Hospital in Haywards Heath and District General Hospital in Eastbourne.

"I am standing beside residents to protect the PRH and DGH.” says Norman “Thousands of us have marched against these cuts. The message is clear to the government: ‘they’re our hospitals, not yours, take your hands off."
