Lewes MP Norman Baker has newly been re-elected as Chair of the Associate Parliamentary Flood Prevention Group.
The group, which is made up of MPs and peers from all parties who have an interest in flood prevention issues, met recently for its AGM. Mr Baker was returned as chair unanimously by members of the group from all political parties.
Speaking after the AGM Mr Baker said:
"I am delighted to have been re-elected as Chair of the Associate Parliamentary Flood Group. The group's work is central to pushing issues surrounding flood prevention to the top of the political agenda.
"I look forward to another year working with the group and to further raising awareness, both of the need to tackle climate change and the causes of flooding and also provide more flood defences for areas of the country particularly at risk."
