Norman Baker salutes early finish to road works
Polegate’s MP Norman Baker has welcomed the news that the junction works where the A2270 meets the A27 have largely finished and the A27 will be open this weekend. The work was supposed to cover four weekends until the 1st of March. The work will be finishing early leaving the A27 open on the weekend of the 1st of March.
Commenting Norman said:
"I am pleased that the widening of this junction has taken place and I am satisfied that it has not only kept to schedule but will be complete ahead of time.
"However, I am unhappy with the level of consultation that took place prior to the undertaking of the work and the level of information that was provided by the Highways Agency to local businesses.
"I believe that lessons must be learned in order to prevent this dissatisfaction in the future. To that end, I am writing to the Highways Agency to highlight local concerns and to ask that in future greater thought is given to the effect that such works have on local businesses."
