Local MP welcomes advice for serving and ex-serving community

Local MP Norman Baker has today welcomed the news that a joint project by The Royal British Legion, the Citizen Advice Bureau, and The Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund (RAFBF) is now fully operational.

The project has been set up to provide benefits and money advice, specifically tailored to the serving and ex-Serving community, and at present is available in 19 Citizens Advice Bureaux across England and Wales, with a further 3 due to come on-line later on in the year.

People in the Lewes constituency who wish to use the service will be able to access it at the Citizen's Advice Bureau in Eastbourne, which is located on St Leonards Road.

Speaking on the news, Norman said: "I am glad to see that these three organisations are coming together to provide a service that many serving and former service personnel require.

"We often forget that the needs of the serving community differ markedly from the rest of society, and it is important, especially given the increasing strain that the armed forces are under these days, that our service personnel are looked after properly when they return home."
