Lewes MP Norman Baker visited No. 10 Downing Street on Wednesday to deliver letters written by local schoolchildren in support of the "Send my friend to school" campaign.

The Lib Dem MP recently visited pupils at Seaford Primary School to discuss the campaign, and collect letters written by the pupils in support of the campaign for the attention of the Prime Minister.

The campaign calls for every child to be given access to education regardless of where they live in the world. Currently, around 75 million children worldwide do not receive a proper education.

Norman Baker commented:

"I am pleased to be able to support the "Send my friend to school" campaign. It is appalling that so many children around the world miss out on a proper education.

"It is very encouraging that so many pupils at Seaford Primary School have added their voice to this campaign. I have been hugely impressed by their enthusiasm for and knowledge of the issue.

"I hope that these letters will help to draw this important issue to the Prime Minister's attention, and help ensure that every child is given a real education regardless of where they live."
