Local MP Norman Baker launches the OurNewhaven 2010 calendar on the steps of Lewes District Council offices in Fort Road, Newhaven. The office building was previously the old fire station, prior to moving to Meeching Road.
Norman said "I am delighted to launch the 'Our Newhaven' calendar for 2010. This is the result of a great community effort involving many people in the town who together have contributed a wonderful collection of historical photographs. I have my calendar on my office wall, waiting for January 1st to arrive, and would urge everyone to get hold of their own calendar while stocks last!"
The calendar can be purchased from Newhaven Museum and various local retailers for £3.49.
OurNewhaven is a living history website run by local volunteers who collect and publish photographs, stories and memories of the town from, from local residents. If you wish to bring any photos to be scanned, our next session is at Newhaven Museum on Saturday 21 November from 10.00 am until 4.00 pm.
