"We need to be a nation that makes things, not a nation of pen pushing bankers." That is the view of local MP, Norman Baker, who recently went to view Rolls-Royce's state of the art turbine engine at Westminster.

RollS-Royce, in conjunction with Boeing and the University of Sheffield recently hosted a number of Parliamentary events to showcase the importance of British manufacturing, with the centre piece being the placement of its new turbine engine outside the House of Commons. The engine's blades are manufactured in Lancashire, which employs around 900 people, and assembled in Derby, which employs around 12,000 people.

Norman says: "We must support British manufacturers and I was very pleased to get the opportunity to take a look at Rolls-Royce's state of the art turbine engine. It certainly showed the ingenuity of British manufactures to make fast travel, rather than the many pen pushing bankers who only seem interested in making a fast buck."
