22nd Nov: All aboard! More trains for Plumpton

From December Plumpton will benefit from an hourly Sunday service to and from London Victoria, which Plumpton's MP Norman Baker says: "will cut journey times and provide a convenient service for station users seven days a week".

Norman, who has campaigned over the years for more frequent services to the village, sought confirmation from Southern of the positive changes and a Southern representative has confirmed that from December the 47 minute past the hour service from London Victoria to Ore will stop at Plumpton.

The station will also benefit from an hourly service to London on Sundays which will get travellers into London in less than an hour, with no changes.

Norman says: "Station footfall has increased markedly at Plumpton over the years showing the clear demand for rail travel to and from this station. These timetable changes are great news for passengers who will see Sunday journey times slashed, and convenience improved hugely. The village will now have a true seven day a week service."
